Are you a solo female traveler with a burning desire to share your adventures with the world? Perhaps you’re wondering how to start a solo female travel blog. If so, keep reading, as I’m interviewing Jill Charpia, the founder of Travel Till You Drop, an influential solo female travel blogger.

Jill’s passion for travel is evident through her blog, where she educates and entertains us with her journeys, from her first solo trip to Southeast Asia to her unforgettable escapades across Europe and Australia.

When it comes to orchestrating the perfect solo trip, be it a simple day trip or a full-blown adventure across the country, Jill’s got all the tips and tricks up her sleeve. She helps her readers craft the best itineraries, explore the world’s most captivating destinations, and discover new experiences.

But going on a solo travel journey brings up so many questions:

  • How do you plan the perfect itinerary?
  • Which destinations should be on your bucket list? Perhaps Paris in France, Mexico, or even a journey across New Zealand or Europe?
  • How can you ensure you stay safe as a woman, reassure loved ones and experience the best things, especially in unfamiliar territories?
  • How much money should you set aside for your next adventure in the right place?
  • How will you savor every moment and make the most of your time?

Travel Till You Drop delves into all this and more. Jill’s blog not only offers a wealth of travel solo tips but also features articles on solo travel, particularly catering to solo female travelers and dark tourism. With her impressive track record of visiting over 50 countries, including every state in the U.S., she truly is an authority on the subject.

Moreover, Jill’s adventures have inspired countless other women. Through her stories and experiences, she teaches women that traveling alone, especially as a solo female, is not as scary as it seems. She instills confidence in her readers, showing them the endless possibilities that await in every corner of the globe.

Let’s deep dive into Jill’s interview and learn more about how she inspires a community of women to pack their bags, follow the map, and embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Let’s jump into the interview!

Introduce yourself and tell us about your business

Hi there, my name is Jill Charpia. I am from Dallas, Texas, and have a travel blog specializing in solo female travel and dark tourism.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I’ve always been in the mindset of being an entrepreneur, and this time, I chose one that directly aligns with the things I already do and love. Getting to share my experiences with others is something I do in my day to day, so why not share them with the world?

What are the most important lessons you’ve learned as an entrepreneur?

Be patient, hire a mentor, and do not reinvent the wheel. Consistency is key!

What resources have been helpful in your personal and professional development?

I follow several amazing travel bloggers, such as Nomadic Matt and The Blonde Abroad, and I believe Pat Flynn was my first influence.

Then the Blog Growth Engine (BGE) course was my next big investment in my personal development in blogging.

What platform, software, or tools do you use to run your business?

How do you maintain a work-life balance as an entrepreneur?

Currently, I don’t have much balance (I can see the light, though). I’ve been at this for a year without much luck making money or acquiring traffic, but I’ve seen momentum since investing in the Blog Growth Engine course. Learning the techniques and strategies is helping me stop wasting my time on the wrong things.

While I work 10–12 hour days now and have hired several freelancers to assist, I make sure to get my workout in six days a week.

My sole focus for the next six months is blogging, and I can’t wait to see it take off!

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who are just starting their journey?

  1. Hire a mentor or get into a course (BGE or similar) and learn how to start your blog correctly.
  2. Hire trusted help. Do not try to do everything on your own, or you will get burned out!

Is there anything else valuable you’d like to share with aspiring entrepreneurs?

Find something you love, and don’t ever give up. You may have to slow down, but don’t ever give up.

Where can people find you?
